CLOSING REMARKS FOR STEADFAST COBALT 2024 EXERCISE

MONS, Belgium – Major General Jürgen Brötz, Commander NATO CIS Group (NCISG) announced the successful closure of Exercise STEADFAST COBALT 2024 (STCO24) phase IIIB.1 on Friday, April 26, 2024.  

11 NATO Command Structure units and 12 NATO Force Structure units have attended and contributed to the planning process and execution of the STCO24. More than 1000 participants took part in Exercise STCO24 and improved their interoperability, strengthen teamwork and endeavored to field new Communications and Information Systems (CIS) capabilities.

During the STCO24, the technical solution provided through the Command, Control, Communications, Computer (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) (C4ISR) Architecture was verified, with over 4500 interoperability test cases being performed. 

The closing ceremony of the Exercise STEADFAST COBALT 24 took place via Video Tele Conference (VTC).

Major General Jürgen Brötz underlined the fact that despite many unknowns and challenges including the design of a new warfighting network participants (planners, engineering and technicians) across the ACO, NCIA and National CIS community displayed true professionalism and expertise.

Major General Brötz said: 

Our goals were ambitious. We aimed to push the boundaries of our skills, sharpen our response strategies and enhance our ability to work as cohesive units across the NATO Command and Force Structures. The results speak for themselves and we have met our objectives to set the foundation for future work. Thank you for your work both behind the scenes and at the wheel.
