ACO Cyberspace Commanders Conference 2024

MONS, Belgium – the ACO Cyberspace Commanders Conference, held on November 14 - 15, 2024, brought together 101 military cyber leaders from ACO’s Cyberspace Domain at SHAPE.  

The ACO Cyberspace Commanders Conference aimed to address Washington Summit Declaration from July 10, 2024 that establishes:

the NATO Integrated Cyber Defence Centre to enhance network protection, situational awareness, and the implementation of cyberspace as an operational domain throughout peacetime, crisis and conflict

Major General, Jürgen Brötz, SHAPE Deputy COS Cyberspace/ NCISG COM led the conference.

The conference focused on strengthening cyber defence collaboration. Speakers shared insights on how Allies can support the development of the NATO Integrated Cyber Defence Centre and how Allies and NATO support each other in cyber domain or cyberspace activities to improve deterrence and readiness ahead of any escalation into conflict. 

Representatives from over 32 countries stressed the importance of international partnership to create unified responses to global cyber challenges.

The conference included national lessons identified in the creation of cyber domain operations centres. Participants committed to a more resilient cyber defence strategy for a safer digital future.
