The biannual event was attended by the commanders, deputy commanders, the Senior Enlisted Leaders of the three NATO Signal Battalions and the NCISG Command Senior Enlisted Leader. For the first time in 9 years, due to COVID-19 precautionary measures, this was executed in a virtual environment.
During the conference, all three commanders of NATO Signal Battalions assessed the impact of the pandemic on their daily work, exercise planning and execution as well as deployments to operations and missions throughout the year.
Brigadier General Hans FOLMER highlighted achievements done in the main
focus for 2020 which was operationalizing of the NCISG. Furthermore, he discussed current challenges and provided guidance for upcoming year 2021.
The afternoon session of the conference was enhanced by two guest speakers. LTC Hans POSTMA from ACT was talking about learning app for mobile devices and possible collaboration with Old Dominion University. Mr. Sebastian TAMPINONGKOL introduced learning innovations and method transformation by NCIA.
In conclusion Brigadier General Hans FOLMER again expressed sincere thanks and appreciation for all hard work, commitment to NCISG mission during the very demanding year that was 2020.
