NCISG Hail & Farewell and Family Day.
Mons,
Belgium - On Thursday, 10th October, 2019, the NATO CIS Group (NCISG) held a
Hail and Farewell ceremony and Family Day at the DEU NSE.
Major General Wolfgang Renner,
Commander, and Brigadier General Hans Folmer, Deputy Commander, thanked and bade
farewell to six members of the NCISG Family, two of whom are leaving early on
promotion. The leavers each received a
certificate of appreciation thanking them for their excellent service, and a
bouquet of beautiful flowers.
Major General Renner and Brigadier
General Folmer then welcomed twenty newcomers to the Family; they come from
nine different nations and are filling posts in the Command Group and HQ.
Major General Renner took the
opportunity to thank the staff for their continued commitment and
professionalism, then he got the Family Day started by telling everyone to
enjoy the food, socialise, and not to talk about work!
Along with the excellent food,
prepared by NCISG families and staff, the highlight of the event was the
children’s games competition and the medal ceremony. Although we reengineered the games for this
year, which included the Giant Ring Toss, Pool Noodle Soccer, Closest to the
Cone, Knock Down the Cans and a Bobby Car Race, all games participants managed
to earn an award. Also, as in past
years, the medal ceremony with the children was the feature event of the day.In his final remarks, Major General Renner
thanked the families and expressed his deep gratitude for their dedicated
support from behind the scenes.
