The Acting Commander of the NATO CIS Group (NCISG), Brigadier General Hans FOLMER, presided over the annual NCISG Awards Ceremony on 04 December 2019. This ceremony is held at the conclusion of the Commander NCISG’s winter conference and is the occasion at which personnel who have distinguished themselves throughout the preceding year are recognized.

Brigadier General Folmer presented 28 Individual Recognition Awards to staff from the Battalions and the HQ; 11 Team Awards which recognise significant achievements and performances of ad hoc teams, whose members come together from different units or Battalions for a specific project. Teams were awarded for their achievements in deployments to Resolute Support Mission, Afghanistan, and their excellent support to Exercises STEADFAST COBALT ’19, TRIDENT JUPITER 19, NOBLE SKYWAVE 19 and STEADFAST INTEREST 19. Finally, five Unit Awards were presented: one each to 1^st NSB DCM-E; 2^nd NSB DCM-C, DCM-E, DCM-F and the Maintenance & Support Company.

Brigader General Folmer concluded by congratulating the recipients and thanked everyone for their hard work in support of the NATO CIS Group. He wished everyone a very restful but Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year and hoped to see everyone come back with their batteries re-charged for a very hectic 2020!
