Battalion Command Senior Enlisted Leader

CSM ZELENÁK joined the Slovak Armed Forces in September 1995. Following graduation from Military High School (Electronics and Communications Branch) he joined the Signal Battalion, where he served as a Signal Platoon Commander. He returned to the Military High School for a short spell as a Platoon Commander.

In 2003 he reported to the Slovak Armed Forces NCO Academy to assume responsibility as a Platoon Commander leading Instructors of NCO Courses. He was subsequently selected to be a part of the group developing and integrating NCO PME system and structure in the Slovak Armed Forces. In 2010 Zelenák served as the Senior Instructor of the Career Courses during which he deployed to Afghanistan, as part of ISAF, and employed within the OMLT (Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team) in Uruzgan Province. Upon his return, he was appointed to the post of the First Sergeant of the Career Courses at the NCO Academy.

In 2014 Zelenák deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of EUFOR, and employed within the LOT (Liaison and Observation Team) Coordination Centre and SLOVCON. Upon his return, he was appointed to the post of Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) to the Mobile CIS Base. In 2017 he attended the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy and graduated from Class 68. In 2018 Zelenák served as the CSEL of the Transportation Wing of the Slovak Air Force. In 2020 he was subsequently promoted to the most senior NCO rank and appointed to the post of the Deputy Commandant of the NCO Academy at the Training and Mobilization Base. In 2021 CSM Zelenák assumed the position of the Commandant of the NCO Academy at the Training and Mobilization Base.

CSM Zelenák became the 3rd NATO Signal Battalion Sergeant Major on August 1, 2023.

He is married to his wife Petra and has two sons, Lukáš and Matej.
